ADHD Resources

ADHD Information & Resources

We specialize in comprehensive adult ADHD evaluations. Here is what you should know.

What Is ADHD?

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition affecting attention, impulse control, and executive functioning. It often persists into adulthood and can significantly impact work, relationships, and daily life.

What to Expect During an ADHD Evaluation

Our evaluations include a detailed clinical interview, review of your history, standardized rating scales (including the MOXO performance test), and a thorough discussion of how symptoms impact your daily functioning. We take time to rule out other conditions that may mimic ADHD.

ADHD Treatment Options

Treatment may include medication management, behavioral strategies, executive functioning coaching, and lifestyle modifications. We develop individualized plans based on your specific presentation and goals.

Executive Functioning Resources

Executive functioning challenges — including time management, organization, and task initiation — are common in ADHD. We provide guidance on evidence-based strategies and tools to support daily functioning.

Veteran Resources

Veteran Mental Health Resources

We provide specialized psychiatric care and VA disability documentation for veterans and active-duty service members.

VA Disability Process Overview

The VA disability process involves filing a claim, providing evidence of a service-connected condition, and undergoing a C&P exam. Our practice can support your claim with clinical documentation including Nexus Letters, DBQs, and Independent Medical Opinions.

Nexus Letters vs. DBQs

A Nexus Letter establishes the medical connection between your current condition and your military service. A DBQ (Disability Benefits Questionnaire) documents the severity of your condition. Both are important tools in supporting a VA disability claim.

What to Bring to Your Consultation

Please bring your DD-214, service treatment records (if available), VA rating decision letters, any prior mental health records, and a summary of how your condition affects your daily life and ability to work.

Medication Information

Medication Resources

Important information about medication management, refill policies, and what to expect.

Prescription Refill Policy

Refill requests should be submitted at least 3–5 business days before your medication runs out. Refills are typically processed during scheduled follow-up appointments. Please do not wait until you are out of medication to request a refill.

Controlled Substance Policy

Controlled substances are prescribed when clinically appropriate and in accordance with state and federal regulations. Patients receiving controlled medications are required to maintain regular follow-up appointments and may be subject to urine drug screening.

Managing Side Effects

Some side effects are temporary and resolve as your body adjusts. If you experience concerning side effects, contact our office before stopping your medication. Never abruptly discontinue psychiatric medications without guidance from your provider.

Medication Adherence Tips

Take medications at the same time each day, use a pill organizer or phone reminder, and keep a symptom journal to track your response. Bring your medication bottles to every appointment.
